About the Host
Mel McCoy is a proud alum of Nathan Hale High School and the broadcast radio program. She’s a dance music junkie with a soft spot for anything from the ‘90s and early 2000s: think glitter, glow sticks, and epic remixes. Mel vibes with almost every genre under the sun: if it makes you want to move, she’s all in.
Mel started her adventure at DANCE 89.5 as a high school freshman. She loved her time as Assistant Music Director, and her on-air duties throughout the program. Mel graduated in 2001. She continued to volunteer and do fill-in shifts with the station as needed until being offered the reigns of Planet Dance in January of 2003. The party really got hot when Mel was joined by co-host Matt, bringing their now iconic energy and banter to the airwaves.
