The Business Specialist at DANCE 89.5 is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial aspects of station operation with some administrative tasks thrown in.  This role ensures the station’s financial health, complies with regulations, and supports the leadership team in strategic planning and decision-making.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist in managing the station’s budget
• Monitor financial performance
• Coordinate with Seattle Public Schools accounting department as needed
• Manage purchase orders and personal service contracts including invoice submission and tracking
• Handle all accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Post payments for membership and corporate donations for accurate recordkeeping
• Daily bookkeeping entries in Excel, Quickbooks, or other financial software
• Produce quarterly and annual financial reports
• Reconcile bank statements
• Communicate with donors on the phone and by email

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in Bookkeeping and Accounting
• Strong financial management and customer service skills
• Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple projects as once
• Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
• Experience with non-profits, public media a plus

This full-time position works on-site at DANCE 89.5’s studios in Northeast Seattle.  Our workspace is an open environment (no offices) with constant music, passionate colleagues, and students who are part of what we do every day.
